Emma Willard School in Troy, NY was founded in 1814 by Emma Willard in an effort to provide girls with the same level of education as boys. It is now a private, all girls boarding school. The photographs provide an excellent visual timeline of young girls scholarly life and looks from late 1800s to 1950s.
